Bio

I’m a Research Director at EdTech Hub, and a Professor of Educational Dialogue and Pedagogical Inquiry at University of Cambridge. My particular responsibilities within EdTech Hub have recently focused on (co-)leadership of the 3.5 year research programme on teacher professional development (TPD) in Tanzania. I am a member of the Ethics Panel and  previously was a Research Director, led a large systematic review of technology use in TPD in LMICs, and convened the Advisory Pool.

Background: I’ve worked in the field of EdTech for over three decades now, focusing particularly on TPD, teacher inquiry, and interactive pedagogy, including in sub-Saharan Africa (e.g. www.oer4schools.org). I also co-lead the interdisciplinary Cambridge Educational Dialogue Research (CEDiR) group and was an Editor of the British Journal of Educational Technology until 2024.
