EdTech Hub’s goal is to increase the use of evidence in decision-making around the use of technology in education. In addition to our portfolio of 15+ research studies, we provide technical assistance to partners and stakeholders across the world. We are an established, trusted resource and our government and donor partners know they can reach out to us to support them whenever they need advice, resources, or legwork to address an EdTech issue. EdTech Hub provides the support through its country leads, our global “Helpdesk” team, and a network of specialist consultants around the globe. Our technical assistance offerings include short-term support through our Helpdesk service and long-term collaboration with government partners.
Technical assistance is designed to fit the unique needs and contexts of our partners and stakeholders. Our support can take the form of embedded support from our country leads who work directly with government agencies, donor partners, and other EdTech stakeholders. It can also include on-demand support from local and global experts ranging from designing workshops to targeted research, deep work with government partners who own EdTech products or services that need improvement, to facilitating working groups and beyond.
Short term
EdTech Hub’s Helpdesk provides decision-makers in over 70 countries access to ‘just-in-time’ evidence-based advice to inform their policy and planning. It also helps us to keep our ear to the ground, understanding trends in countries’ evidence needs that can then inform future research agendas. The Helpdesk also enables the Hub to deliver evidence, examples, and advice to decision-makers at the moment they need it, reducing friction in evidence uptake. The Hub has responded to over 70 Helpdesk requests, publishing over 35 of these responses, since its launch in April 2020.
Long term
This entails close collaboration with governments, led by in-country team members who work alongside government teams to design policies and programmes. This can range from deep support to design decisions and advocate for more evidence-based EdTech-related policies to facilitating the participatory development of a national strategy.
No matter the scale of the support, EdTech Hub’s team of global experts offer a wide array of specialties in education, research, technology, geographic contexts, and thematic areas to support evidence-based decision-making.

Country engagement
Our country engagement model is uniquely designed to support ministries with both the big picture and the pivotal day-to-day of strategic design, implementation and management. Dedicated support from our country leads, backstopped by a diverse team of local and global specialists available on-demand, that allows the Hub to provide high quality technical assistance to its partners.
Helpdesk
EdTech Hub’s Helpdesk provides discrete, just- in-time, tailored support to FCDO Education Advisers, World Bank staff and UNICEF staff who work with ministries of education in low- and middle-income countries. We help these advisers in their EdTech work with government officials and program implementers, and we also share robust resources from our work to benefit the sector.
