About

EdTech Hub works with government and non-government partners in Kenya to strengthen the use of technology in education. Our work includes targeted research, support to policy and curriculum development bodies, and collaboration on programmes that aim to improve learning outcomes. We work closely with the Ministry of Education, Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), UNICEF, the UK’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), and other stakeholders to ensure EdTech initiatives are evidence-informed and locally relevant.

Bridging the Gap

The challenge

Over the last eight years, Kenya’s shift to a competency-based curriculum has required new approaches to teaching, assessment, and technology. While promising, the transition has exposed gaps in capacity, infrastructure, and evidence, particularly for girls and the most marginalised learners.

How EdTech Hub helps

As Kenya transitions to a competency-based curriculum, EdTech Hub supports the government and partners to address gaps in capacity, infrastructure, and evidence. We generate insights, strengthen systems, and provide technical inputs to ensure technology supports effective, inclusive, and resilient teaching and learning.
