Overview
EdTech Hub is a global team whose work extends beyond our focus countries in Africa and Asia. We operate across a wide range of contexts, including countries such as Tajikistan, Lebanon, El Salvador, Senegal, Uganda, Liberia, and others, and work with a network of education specialists with diverse geographic and subject-matter expertise.
This global reach positions us well to support technical assistance and research activities that place context at the centre. Our specialists work closely with the core EdTech Hub team to deliver tailored support to decision-makers in low- and middle-income countries.
While grounded in specific contexts, our research, tools, and approaches are designed to be relevant and applicable globally.
How We Engage
Education systems around the world are exploring how technology can improve learning, inclusion, and access. But decisions are often made with limited evidence, in complex contexts, and with varying levels of support.
EdTech Hub helps governments and partners navigate these challenges. We provide practical evidence and technical guidance that is grounded in local realities, helping ensure that technology investments are effective, inclusive, and sustainable.
We combine global research, local expertise, and trusted partnerships to support informed decision-making. Where useful, we test and adapt solutions through sandboxes, generating insights that can be applied in real-world settings. Our work strengthens education systems by focusing on equity, relevance, and long-term impact.
Inform decisions with evidence
We provide timely and practical insights which help governments understand what works, for whom, and in which contexts.
Improve coordination and coherence
We work alongside ministries to align EdTech efforts across departments and partners, reducing duplication and boosting collective impact.
Place equity at the centre
We support the development of strategies that address the needs of girls, learners with special educational needs and disabilities, and those in low-resource environments.
Strengthen systems for lasting change
Our evidence helps build policy frameworks and institutional capacity, ensuring EdTech investments are meaningful, scalable, and sustainable.
Where We Work
Outside of our focus countries, these are some of the other countries we have worked. This list is not exhaustive, and we also collaborate elsewhere in the world.
Our Global Portfolio
AI for Education: Global Trends
Every week, EdTech Hub’s AI Observatory publishes Waypoint Wednesday, a signals report tracking how AI is shaping education worldwide.
Each edition highlights emerging trends, from strategic foresight approaches for AI governance to open models and innovative practices in data sovereignty, helping education stakeholders anticipate and navigate the opportunities and challenges of AI.
Evidence for Decision-Making
Draw on evidence and publications from around the world to guide policy and practice decisions.
In Practice and Delivery
In order to tackle evidence gaps in a meaningful and measurable way, EdTech Hub aligns its work around big challenges using three methodological approaches — Research, Innovation, and Technical Assistance, which act as the common threads that link our programmes across education sectors globally.
We deliver our work using an integrated approach, which connects theory to practice by layering these methodological approaches to not only generate evidence but also test that evidence in practice, which in turn helps us to deepen our understanding of what works and why.
